How To Setup Polygon on Your Wallet?
--
What up ya’ll! It’s the ‘blockchain boy’ aka Polo Lewis back at ya with another another walkthrough.
Now that we got our Metamask wallet all set up it’s time to add the Polygon extension to our wallet. Polygon is an Ethereum sidechain that uses the Matic as its token. It has been built off the same technology that Ethereum has, however, the Polygon network is much less congested than Ethereum, and can process transactions at a much faster rate. Put simply, those super pricey gas/transaction fees that most people pay when using Ethereum network, those are much lower on Polygon (like wayyy lower), This makes it a lot cheaper to purchase and list NFT’s.
While setting up new chains on your wallet usually has to be done manually (and is quite time consuming) we did a bit of research and found a much quicker solution, thanks to the pals at chainlist.org (thanks guys!)
Let’s get it.
- Go to Chainlist.org
2. Once we are here we have to connect our wallet. So at the top right corner click “Connect Wallet”
3. When the popup appears click “Next”
4. Click “Connect”
5. Our wallet has been connected to Chainlist. Let’s set it up with Polygon
6. Under the “Search Networks” bar type “Polygon”
7. Under ‘Polygon Mainnet’ click “Add To Metamask”
8. When this smart contract prompt appears. Click “Approve”
9. Click “Switch network”
10. Boom!!
